The Yankee Springs TT was a great event. We had nice weather which made for killer trail conditions.
The highlight of the day was the last event when the kids got a chance to race. Honestly it was pretty inspiring to see the future of the sport. The kids rode one loop (12.5 miles), and each had an adult chaperone riding along with them. Obviously that was done for safety reasons, but it also let them talk the kid through the race. Super cool.
Geoff rode with Keegan (11) on Sunday. Keegan is the son of Dan Korienek who races with us on Leadout Racing. Dan rode with his daughter, Ellie (8). Geoff had a great time helping Keegan pick the right lines and pushing him down the course. Keegan ended up finishing 4th in the beginning boys category (11-14). He did great and is on his way to being a good cyclist.
Soigneur is proud to support organizations likeĀ Michigan Youth Cycling and The Motion Initiative. It’s just one way for us to give back to our sport.
